Despite what anyone says they tried. Doesn’t overturn the fact that all major health orgs recommendations are 6m for solids. Just means the person and or drs is misinformed and out of date.

Waiting until 6months is what’s healthiest for your baby. Yes they say you can start at 4 months but there are long standing health issues that could arise by starting before 6 months.

We have concerns for allergies, and I have celiac. We started at 4.5 months. This is the AAP guidelines. We did mashed foods and purées. My son didn’t care about solids until 8 months + and now at 11 months, eats almost everything. 
Everyone will have their own opinion, and some will be more forceful than others. Chose a pediatrician that you trust, and maybe one family member/friend, and block everyone else out with a smile and a nod. Our pedi agreed with AAP for food, but not how to treat eczema for example. She could fully explain what a pedi dermatologist would do, and why she disagreed. She had another recommendation (not a bleach bath, yes bleach 😬) and it worked. Point is, just because a pediatrician says one thing, doesn’t mean they are outdated, they have experience and form their own opinions too.

5 months she was tasting some foods. 6 months I started giving real meals. Like the other commenter said, it is important to wait until readiness, and 6 months is the best time. You can feed them before then (you won't kill them), but keep in mind the risks.

I waited until my kids had gotten their first teeth. Hard for baby to digest solids until that time. They were EBF until 11 months.
