I went in today for an anatomy scan at 16 weeks and 1 day, first they told me the gender which was so exciting and I was so happy, then my heart broke when they found that the baby may have anencephaly. they asked me to put my husband on the phone and told us both at the same time and referred me to a specialist which then confirmed the diagnosis. Two miscarriages later we were so excited to make it past 12 weeks, I never thought this would end in a loss. We decided to terminate due to potential health complications which was the most heart breaking decision I’ve ever had to make.... to make the whole situation worse, we also found out my husband is not allowed to come with me for the D&E procedure due to covid so ill be put under alone and in the recovery room alone after the procedure...

I’m so thankful there are other parents here that understand what I’m going through, I wish us all the best and can’t wait for when we have healthy rainbow babies...
