5w5d... slow heartbeat?

I had my first ultrasound today to figure out how far along I am. They say I'm measuring 5w5d. We could see a very tiny heartbeat, but she only measuring it at 89BPM. I have a follow up scan next week, but I am absolutely petrified that the heart will have stopped.... 
Has anyone else had something similar happen and things turn out okay?

Tech here! While your worst case scenario is always possible (unfortunately), it is suuuuuuper common for hearts to be slow this early. Baby’s heart really just started beating (you are VERY early for an ultrasound and many people wouldn’t see baby yet let alone a heartbeat at this GA). When they first start, it’s slower (such as 89 bpm), then it gets very fast (170-200) and then settles into the more usual rates we expect to see. Take heart, mama. No guarantees with babies, but, in all likelihood, this is perfectly normal and you’ll see that heart rate pick up next time. 😊

I was 5 weeks 6 days baby heart beat was 109 then i went for my 8 week 2 days check up the baby heart rate increased to 172

At 5w5d my baby’s heartbeat was 96bpm. I was so scared. Went back 6w5d it was 136bpm.

My baby still didn’t have a visible heartbeat at 5.5 weeks.  He’s our spoiled, healthy 5 month old sweetie now!  5 weeks is still super early, we got a strong heartbeat a few weeks later.
