Do you nurse your baby to sleep?

I have a 6 week old and I have been nursing him to sleep pretty frequently. It is so easy and fast! I have started to worry a little though about creating a “bad habit” and having him not be able to fall asleep without nursing. Just curious as to what all you other mamas think/do!

It’s not a bad habit. It is very natural. If it works for you, go for it!

There are no bad habits, you aren’t going to have a 5 year old still wanting to eat to go to sleep so you crack on and do what you need to do 
I feel mine to sleep and he’s 4 and a half months old. I love it and it works x

I did until about 6 months old. They say it’s a bad habit but it just felt so natural and right to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ do what works for you. Lots of babies require some level of sleep training no matter how they are put to sleep.

I did with my first. I will admit it made things harder sometimes. Like no one else was able to put him to sleep until he was a little older and then when he would wake up in the middle of the night he’d want to nurse back to sleep and it was exhausting. But like others said I think it’s natural and I don’t think it’s bad or wrong. But it might make things harder at times. If it works for you then do it! 😊

I nursed my kiddo to sleep till 22 months when he stopped wanting to nurse to sleep. He was sleeping through the night well before then. He just started nursing and then would lay down in bed on his own. Waiting till he was ready was great for us. 
I don’t know of an adult that still needs to be rocked or nursed to sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did until he was 4 months old. He was waking all through the night and needed me to nurse him although he wasn’t hungry. I just couldn’t keep doing that. It didn’t work for us. 
It’s absolutely not a bad habit. You do whatever works for you and baby. ❤️

I did every single night with my first. Until she was about a year old. I had to stop cold turkey bc I was pregnant and it became super painful. It was rough for 2-3 nights but then she went to sleep fine with just rocking. Now she’s almost 2 and goes right to bed on her own

At 6 weeks old, yes. Once they get to 3 months, I stop doing that and put them down semi-asleep but not all the way knocked out.

I did until my son was a year and a half and weaned himself. One day he was just done. We rocked and snuggled a little, then he pointed at his crib, I put him down and he went to sleep. I loved having the special time for so long, and am happy the transition was so smooth for us when it ended.
