Newborn Doll

Question

When I come home from the hospital after giving birth I would like to give my 18mth old daughter a gift of her own newborn baby doll. One that is soft to touch, has a bottle, can go in bath and able to purchase clothes for. Recommendations on the best one would be great please. Last time I purchased a doll was 15yrs ago and there is so much difference in quality today.

I don't have a doll suggestion but have you considered maybe giving it to her a few months before the new baby comes? My girls are 18 months apart and like 3 months before my youngest was born I gave her sister a doll that we would treat like a real baby so that by the time her sister came she knew how to act with a baby

Someone already recommended Stella Dolls. They're soft and have a magnetic mouth, so the paci will attach. You can also get her a little baby carrier wrap or stroller, so she can care for her baby just like mom does.

Are you talking about a reborn doll? Those are expensive so I’d just get one of those baby born or baby alive dolls then she can feed it and change its diaper

Reborn dolls are pretty realistic. They're made for people who like can't have babies, or calms anxiety and stuff I guess. Because of how realistic they are, they're on the pricier side for a doll.

Definitely recommend giving her one before and maybe even an extra one once the baby comes or another little gift for her when you come home from delivery. The type doesn’t matter kids love all baby dolls I’m sure you’ll be able to find one at Walmart or target or even Amazon that won’t be too costly they don’t look at details like we do it’s the gesture that really counts and teaching her when it’s just you and her will help her cause she can be caring for her babydoll while your caring for new baby. Monkey see monkey do my niece even fake nurses her dolls cause she sees my sister nursing 😂 starting her now can help her get that one on one time with you so she knows to be gentle and loving with new baby when it gets here. This my sister baby it’s a reborn it wasn’t that expensive or maybe because hers is half body so he can’t go into water but as you see she learns to be gentle

For some reason Glow wont let me recommend this doll even if I provide a link so ignore the random recommendation. It's the soft touch baby born doll, comes with a potty, diaper, bottle, food etc. It eats, drinks, pees, poops and cries. My 18 month old daughter got it for Christmas and she loves it.
