What do you guys do with your older rambunctious breastfeeding babies?

Nursing is driving me insane. My daughter is 12 months old and each nursing session is accompanied by me getting kicked in the other boob and face, her scratching me, grabbing my hair, face, and glasses. Guys I'm so done. Help me. Tips? Advice?

My son seems to think I am Elastigirl. He wants to nurse but then turns his head this way and that and watch everything.

I haven’t gotten to that stage yet, but my friend had this issue. & like others have said, she’d unlatch tell them “no hitting/scratching etc” & end the nursing session.

I agree with the other commenter that you should just stop the nursing session since you can give baby solids now. Eventually your LO will figure out that they can't hit or kick you if they want to nurse.

I would only nurse in quiet dim places at that age. If he was still kicking, pulling etc than I just stopped the nursing session and we moved on with our day. Since breastmilk at a year doesn’t have to be the main source of nutrition I wouldn’t offer till his next normal time unless he asked.
