Birthing plan with having 2 year old?

Hi ladies. So my husband and I live away from our families, and due to various reasons not sure if anyone can come help us when our baby girl is born! We have an almost 2 year old, and due to strict covid guidelines, only one person can come to the hospital with me, which I wouldn’t want to put my 2 year old through that anyways lol! My biggest worry is that I’ll either be alone (and most likely having a c section) or that the in laws may come but I just don’t trust them like I trust my mom.. I know it’s a short time, but that’s literally my biggest concern.. can anyone else relate, or what are your plans if you already have kids and are in a situation similar

My fear as well. We moved an hour and a half from our families last year. So now that we are due in April, we are anxious about making a plan for our 5 year old once I go into labor or I am induced. My Mom and sister (whom I trust the most) live the furthest away from us and as you said, with Covid it adds an extra layer of worry. I will likely be induced due to hypertension and that is kind of best case scenario because we can plan for my sister and or Mom to come here and stay overnight with our son if we know what day we will be induced/delivered etc. I wish I had advice but I'm in the same boat. Maybe talking to your OB about being induced because of that situation? That way you can plan and set up what you need to for your 2 year old. Good luck Mama.

Same situation!! I live in Hawaii and our families live far away on the east coast. My dad is very sick so my mom can’t come. My sister might be able to come but if not it would be one of his parents. What sucks is his mom can’t be trusted. She lost my daughter 2times last time she came to visit. Then thought it would be smart to take her to the beach while I was asleep. I just don’t trust her. My daughter almost died 3 times under her care. Anyway, I’m in the same boat right now. It’s not easy because covid is fucking everything up.

We had bad weather with my second so even family that lived close, took a long time for them to arrive. We had a family member on call that we trusted and a go bag for ourselves and our daughter. The other thing was, my mom offered to take my first for multiple days when it was close to time so we wouldn't have to disrupt my daughter in the middle of the night if that's when the time was. Pick someone you trust and make timing work, maybe husband drops you off at the hospital and come back after getting the child to where they need to be? Maybe your mom can pick up your other kid at the hospital while they wait for her outside? When you have 2 kids, you gotta get creative and make it work 😅

I also have a 2 year old. I have family close by but honestly I don’t trust anyone to answer their phones and have a short list of who I trust with my daughter so I’ve already discussed getting induced. I’m a planner so it stresses me out just winging it lol

When I had #2 we had my parents on call (because of course these things happen in the middle of the night). So they came over at 3am and my husband took me to the hospital, we had the baby, he stayed for the day and then he went home for the night. We didn't want to disrupt the 2 year old's schedule. He put him to bed, got him up the next morning, took him to daycare then came back to the hospital. We will do the same thing with #3 although the kids don't go to daycare anymore. The nanny will just have them during the day.
Do you have any close friends that could be on call for you? At least until either grandparent could get there? If your husband goes home for the night no one (even your in laws) would have to watch the 2 year old overnight. And you'll likely be there for just one or two nights so its some juggling on your husband's part but come on, you've done all the hard work 🤪

We are in the same boat. We have a 3 year old with autism so it’s nearly impossible to find a sitter last minute and my family lives out of state (13 hours away) and my in-laws are about 3 hours away. And it’s looking like the hospital is implementing COVID restrictions that allow one person to go in with me but if they leave, they aren’t allowed to come back in. So as of right now we are scheduling a csection so my husband can at least be there for the birth but he’ll probably have to go home that night and I’ll be alone until discharge 🤷🏻‍♀️. It’s gonna suck but I suppose we’ll just have to make things work

Same ☹️ my son will be 18/19 months when this baby comes and I’m super worried she will come early and I will end up at the hospital alone. All our family lives far away but my son really only knows my mom so I’m nervous that if she can’t be here that we will have to ask my in laws to come out or my husband will have to stay home and I’ll be at the hospital by myself
