Soon to be first time dog owner. Any advice? Especially those that have huskies

I want to hear personal stories of being a first time dog owner especially ones who have huskies. I've been doing my months of research and I've heard stories about how they have separation anxiety and need a lot of attention. 
I've been on the waiting list for a mini husky and this is the 4th time I've been back on the waiting list. The last two times the puppies found their forever homes the day before I was supposed to drive down to meet them and the third time I didn't have extra finances for a puppy. Now this time I'm hoping is my time! I have a reservation for Friday to meet the puppy. So far I ordered a puppy starter pack on Amazon. It came with dog bowls, collar, leashes, toys, grooming equipment, dog waste bags etc. I still need to buy puppy pads, a crate and a dog bed as well as food but I won't know what he is eating until I get there. Am I forgetting anything?
He will be vaccinated, comes with papers and micro chipped. A husky has been my dream dog and I've been actively searching one for months. I'm nervous, excited and scared at the same time. I just want to be the best dog mom that I can be.

I have 2, they have ALOT of energy lol and their hair will clog your bath tub, but they're great dogs, mine back talk soo much lol. Just take up alot of time with them. They're such smart dogs!

I hope it works out mostly being your first dog huskies are pretty high maintenance dogs. The are highly active and intellegent. So you need to get their energy out continuously and otherwise want to be stimulating their minds to keep them busy (I'd look into stimulating toys/puzzles especially for when you aren't home). They are always the dogs around here who get out continuously and go on the run as I said they are generally even smart enough to get out of fenced yards and such and when they do they want to go go go. They also are obviously like mid grooming maintenance with all the fur shedding/brushing then other basic things like nail trimming.

First off do not do puppy.pads, he is a larger dog and bellows outside doing his bathroom habits. You are essentially training your dog to urinate and dedicate in your kitchen if you use pads. 
Second, unless your pup is over 16 weeks of age, they will need more.of their core vaccines that are very important. Male sure you book an appointment with your vet.
Third, find a good trainer. Huskies arent the best option for first time owners. The breed needs a lot of mind stimulation and exercise-- or they will destroy your house. It's important to find that good trainer and be there from day 1. You need to always have consistency and be the one in charge. 
Hope your pups healthy though and you found a reputable breeder, not a puppy mill place!!

You already have an amazing mind set lol yay for you and congrats! So I've worked with dogs my whole life and I can vouch that each dog breed has their own specific qualities but some dogs can have very bad behaviors and some can be perfect little angles. A husky has so much personality! So it's extremely important to do all the research you can on that breed. Like for instance, typically a husky will have a lot of hair so make sure to have the supplies to maintain husky fur. Other basic things would be how to properly train that breed, having a schedule set for your dog that grows with his or her age. Desensitization, like make sure your pup trust you and veterinarians enough so he or she doesn't have anxiety over things like getting it's nails done, dentals, grooming if needed, walking by people and other animals etc. It's a lot of work and time to have an animal so just be attentive, but not too attentive lol and you'll learn with experience of course it's so smart to ask questions and do what you're doing with the research and posting here and other platforms hopefully. Do your best and love your animal though the first bit may be stressful while he or she is growing, just be patient and kind. Good luck!
