Booster shots before IVF or transfer required?

Hello ladies! I was just wondering if any of your doctors required you to get your Varicella and Rubella shots before you started IVF or before your embryo transfer because you no longer were immune? I did bloodwork before IVF and and it showed I was no longer immune, so I did the first round of booster shots, but I don’t want to take the second due a bad reaction I got!! I had a fever for two days and a rash, so I was wondering if this was mandatory for any of you?

I was given the option to deny getting the rubella vaccine. If I had gotten it, then I would have had to postpone all treatments and I did not want to have to keep waiting. The last known case of rubella was in the 60s so I feel okay waiting to get it until after I have a baby.

My doctor highly recommended the Rubela booster. I only had to get 1 shot for that. I didn’t have to get it but she recommended it like 10 times on the phone so I got it lol

It’s important to have it as rubella in pregnancy is very dangerous and can cause miscarriage or serious complications/birth defects.

I came back not immune to rubella so I had to get that before I could go forward with ivf. But they only required me to have the first shot as you’re likely to be very highly immune just from the first (I think). I had also had a shot when I was a kid too so that could have been why they only suggested one dose? 🤷🏻‍♀️
