Wetness rash

What do you recommend for wetness sensitivity rash?

We use pocket diapers and i was getting awful pee leaks with the inserts in the pocket. So I started laying prefolds on top of the diaper and just using the pocket shell as a cover. No more leaks! But now he gets red/splotchy from being sensitive to the wetness 😢 I’ve seen fleece rectangles that people lay on top of the prefolds to keep baby’s skin drier. Does anyone recommend that?
