What would you do in this situation?

This morning 5 bags of groceries from and Amazon Whole Fresh order showed up on our doorstep. We didn’t order anything, in fact we’ve never ordered from Amazon Fresh.

There was no name or address on the bags. We contacted Amazon and explained the situation and gave them the tracking number. They confirmed it was supposed to go to apartment complex next door and we offered to take it over to the people who ordered it. Amazon told us not to bother as they’d already issued a refund and told us to “donate or dispose of” the items.

We don’t live near anywhere to donate the items and don’t have a car so carrying them to the nearest shelter would be difficult. It’s also raining today and is supposed to continue to tomorrow.

Disposing of the food feels very wasteful so we’re trying to decide if we should bring the food over to the people who ordered it anyway even though they’ve been refunded. Or keep it.

What would you do?
