How do you stop the screaming?

My daughter who is 2 now is going through a phase of screaming. Just screams at us all day. I’ve tired everything. I need help before I go insane!!!!!

We taught him last year to recognize sad and mad so he'll tell us if he's sad. Lately he's been soo hangry but if you ask him he'll say no to suggested foods. We will try to just hand him the food. I also repeat what he's saying so he feels heard. I try not to say you're ok, because he doesn't feel ok and saying that can make him feel unheard or invalidate his feelings. I'm a special education teacher so I use a lot of the same behavior handling techniques that I use with my students

If I can see my daughter getting frustrated I try to calm her down. I’ll get on her level and tell her it’s okay and I’ll ask if she can show me what’s wrong. They are developing those communication skills and may not be able to tell me but 90% of the time she will show me. I don’t yell back because that won’t help. If she just keeps screaming then I have her go to her room. I hope that doesn’t sound mean but if I can’t get her to stop screaming, there’s not much I can do. Once she calms down which maybe take 1 minute or less, she will come hug me and then tell/ show me what’s wrong.

I don’t have a suggestion, Sorry! but I’m going through same, even worse. He screams all day too, doesn’t want to eat but don’t allow me take away food either. This is happening 4 times a day for last two months. Tried everything and now his meal times are scary for me. He is not at all ready for potty training and don’t even want to change diapers. All of this makes him scream all day. I feel terrible 😢

I’m sorry we are dealing with some of this too. I think it’s because he needs sleep he is up half the night with sleep terrors it sucks so bad
