Do I have to tell my partners about my HPV?

Statistically, over 80 percent of men and women will get at least one or more strains of HPV in their lifetime. My gyno told me I didn't have to tell anyone since it's extremely common and no ones business. Any thoughts?

Yes, considering that it could possibly kill them...Don't be like Charlie Sheen and hide it because then you might have a lot of people on your ass. People can sue you if you didn't tell them you have HPV and they catch it from you.

You're right, HPV is extremely common as there are HUNDREDS of strains most of them are pretty harmless and won't impact your health but it's just good to keep an eye on things as a precaution, but some strains are dangerous and have been known to lead to certain cancers! Unfortunately there's no way to detect the disease in men. Always be open with your sexual partners though, it'll save you the stress!

HPV is always a moral dilemma tbh. Chances are your partner already has a strain and is going to unknowingly give it to you, it's usually not dangerous and goes away on its own, etc.

I guess I would say that if you know the strain that you have and know that it is one that is linked to cancer or warts you absolutely should tell them. If it's a benign one? Eh. Gonna cause more trouble than it's worth.
