Baby Gate

Question

Hey ladies! We are in the process of buying a multi-level house and I was wondering if any of you have one too and how you’ve done baby gates on double stairs like this?? Should I do 2 gates or is there some kind of 1 big one?? I was thinking about a mesh one but I just don’t know!

2 gates, no mesh (I find they aren’t sturdy enough).  I don’t even like most tension gates for stairs, I do the wall mounted ones.

I would recommend getting one that doesn't have the bottom to step over. We had to search for one that swung open completely because why chance forgetting the bottom of the gate is there when you open it. We got one that swings open for top of stairs but for the bottom we got the skiphop retractable gate which I wish we did for top too. Just avoid the step over thing at the bottom of some gates

Definitely a wall mounted gate and separate ones. You would need one at top and bottom of each set of stairs eventually. Mesh gates should not be used at the top of stairs also. We did one with a walk through gate.

We use a dog gate. It’s taller and adjustable and can withstand more weight against it.
