Wake window 13 months

I recently transitioned to the one nap. We are on day 4 and its going ok. She wakes around 7:15 and nap around 12:15/12:30. I follow taking cara babies and her suggestion is a 4 hour wake window for 13 month old. Then 14 months it goes 4-6. My wake windows are 5 hours in order to keep the nap to break the day in half to make it to bedtime. So far she’s been fine haven’t seen any meltdowns. Im assuming every baby is diff. Anyone out there with 13 months old that have longer wake windows. Is this okay?

To offer two naps with enough time in between we need to put her down for her first nap 2.5 hours after she wakes up. She’s been fighting it more and more, so there are days where we only offer 1 nap and then she’s up for about 5 hours in both wake windows. A couple of weeks ago it was a stretch for her but now she seems totally good with it (just over 14 months) so we might cut down to one nap soon.

We just turned fourteen months yesterday and do two naps. Much past three hours and he’s eye rubbing like crazy and melting down. It works for us now so I’m sticking with it until he shows me he can stay up longer happily.

That’s our approximate schedule too but I stay home so am able to keep it flexible. On days I need to get the bigger kids to bus stops he’s up earlier and bedtime is earlier. On days my husband is home to do bus stops he sleeps til 7/730am. But I’m following his lead and right now two naps works for us. He sleeps 12-13hrs at night and hasn’t woke during the night since the horrible four month regression.

Same! Right at that 3 hour mark he’s ready to go down! Wake at 7am nap at 10 nap at 3 bed at 7pm. It’s working great for us! I thought about transitioning to 1 nap but in no way is he or I ready for that 😂

I’m sure it’s fine. My 13 mo (almost 14 mo) has 3-4 hour wake windows and takes 2 naps, but some days she only has one nap (and a longer wake window).

My son is nearly 14 months and his wake windows can sometimes be 7 hours due to childcare. On a normal day if I get him up at 7 he will usually nap 1.30/2 and nap for up to two hours. Sometimes he will only nap for half an hour a day. I just follow his cues and we do what works for our routine. He does mostly sleep through the night though.

Why works for us is I try to let him have a longer wake window in a morning and let him sleep in the afternoon, that way he isn’t over tired by time as he’s only usually been awake about 4 hours by then. But like dalila said it best to just go with the flow sometimes. x

I know it’s tricky sometimes, but every baby is different so I kind of go with his flow.

My daughter will be 14 months on the 13th and has been one nap since 10 months, shortly after she started daycare! It was so rough at first as she would go up to 6 hours before taking a nap and was so exhausted 😞 now she normally is up 5-6 hours, has a nap that usually lasts around 2 hours and then up for another 5 hours before bed. I’ve just been going with the flow so some days her wake windows are a little less which results in an early bedtime. My daughter has always been on the lower sleep needs end.

My son is 13 months. His wake windows average 5-6 hours. He does seem tired toward the end of his day, but still plays, and falls asleep fine at bedtime and sleeps through the night. I debated whether I should try that second nap, but he fights it will all his might.

It’s okay as long as your baby is doing well and their nighttime sleep doesn’t seem to be disrupted! (That’s usually the biggest sign of an overtired tot). Daycare keeps my thirteen month old up 6-7 hours sometimes before he gets to nap at 1PM 😩. He also is only taking about an hour nap there since he’s struggling with the adjustment, so he’s very obviously fussy and tired when he comes home and has to go to bed at 6:30. I can’t follow Cara’s “rules” anymore because she would be very upset with that schedule lol, but I’m sure what you’re doing is completely okay! Our son can do five hours with no problem.

Lol thank you. Yes I agree plus it makes u more stressed that ur not doing it “right” Night time hasnt been a problem yet hoping it stays that way. But with the one nap you need to make sure it’s in the half way mark or shell be in bed at 530 lol.
