I work as an RN on a labor and delivery floor and covid is rampant where I am. I was told by multiple OB physicians, maternal fetal medicine doctors, neonatologists, and pediatricians to get the vaccine. Other pregnant physicians and nurses that I’m friends with have received the vaccine and all in different stages of their pregnancy. They also provided me with research regarding the vaccine and pregnancy. For me, I was truly on the fence when the vaccine rolled out. However, I have now seen so many mothers on my unit with covid, very sick, and then have to deliver and be away from their babies. Due to my risk of exposure, I decided to get the vaccine. It’s all personal choice but really it’s not a live vaccine, which indicates that it shouldnt cross the placenta.

I’m definitely not trying to persuade you either way but I know for me, it was super hard to make a decision about it and wanted all of the possible information so I hope this helps you. I get my vaccine on Friday and I’m still nervous about it.
