Hcg levels/ovulation

I had a fibroid removal surgery March 2020. My OB said that a possible complication could be a blockage in the fallopian tube preventing pregnancy. I currently use ovulation sticks to know the right times to try and have been for about 4 months now. My question is....if there was a complication from surgery preventing me from getting pregnant, would the sticks still show me as ovulating? Or would they not work if something was wrong inside me? Does that make sense?? I do have a call in to my doctor. Just waiting to hear back and figured I'd drop this question in the meantime.
