Toddler Painful Urination
My 2.5 year old daughter has been potty trained for a little over a month. She’s been doing really well with it. She’s been complaining this week that it hurts to pee. At some points she’s crying. We took her to the dr yesterday, her urine sample was clear (no uti or obvious infection). She also physically looks fine and nothing smells off. We do not use bubble bath or any other products that could irritate her. The doctor says this is extremely normal in little girls her age, especially ones newly potty trained. Apparently nothing is wrong, just encourage her it’s ok. It just feels wrong accepting this. She was crying about the pain at daycare today. The lab could come back and say she actually does have a uti (doctor said that’s unlikely), but if they don’t I’m at a loss. I’m going to call the doctor again, but any ideas what could be going on? I don’t understand how she can be crying in pain but nothing is actually wrong. I feel horrible.
