Is anyone else struggling with postpartum depression??

I had my first a little over a week ago and I'm really struggling with this. It just makes me feel like a horrible mom

Your not a horrible mom!! I did this exact same thing and was alone to top it off and I didn't eat and got worse, which I couldn't breastfeed and that made me feel horrible!! But it took about a month for me to come around I called my sister every day bawling my eyes out and didn't know why....do you have anyone you can vent to??

My baby girl is 3 months old and for the first 8 weeks, I had severe postpartum. I was constantly crying and always seeming depressed. I was barely sleeping and barely eating. One day I just had a breakthrough moment where I told my husband exactly how I was feeling and he has really helped me get through it. He encourages me and is always willing to take over while I sleep. Once the waking up every 2-3 hours goes away, things get so much better! I've never been happier than I am right now! :)

You're not a horrible mom! I went through this after each if my babies. Sleep as much as possible (easier said than done, right?), and give yourself time. Don't be afraid to ask for help with the baby or housework or whatever feels overwhelming at the moment. Hang in there, momma! It gets easier :)

Don't. Your not a horriable mom. Parenting is the harest job there is. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect. Try to sleep as much as possiable. Being over tired makes things worse. Everything will get easier with time. The first few weeks is all about survival.

It might not even be full on post partum, it could quite possibly be just a case of the baby blues. I had it with my second. Talk to your doctor, and make sure you get lots of rest. Don't be afraid to ask for help either.

I did years ago. Don't be afraid to ask for help and definitely talk to your doctor. You are not alone. Get as much rest and possible and treat yourself with some TLC. <3

Many women struggle with this! I'm sure you are an amazing mom. It could just be exhaustion from lack of sleep and things like that if you are at 1 week post partum.  No matter what, talk to your MD or Midwife. There are tons of options to help you feel better.  I know many women who have had post partum depression and have been successfully treated!
