IUD, which one should i get?

Hello, I am in a long term relationship and want to try an IUD. The pill didn’t work for me a few years ago because I had major complaints. 
Now I am debating if I should get one with hormones or without hormones. 
I heard that the pill contains two hormones and the IUD just one. So there is a chance that i won’t have the same complaints. 
But is it smarter to just get the IUD without hormones? Love to hear you experiences and advice!! Thank you in advance.

I had the Mirena for 5 years - overall felt that it was great but I will say I’m very sensitive to hormones (that’s the only birth control I’ve ever used) and I noticed I was much more emotional and depressed the first 2 years but as the hormones wore off I felt back to myself.

I’ve had two mirenas and they worked great for me. I had to get it as my iron levels were coming in at about a 7 in my teens because of my period. I still got the hormones during the time that I would have had my period and every third or so one was like a supernova of emotions haha. But it really did work for me.
I was knocked out both times to put it in so didn’t have much discomfort but didn’t enjoy getting it out when I decided not to use them anymore. There was some serious discomfort there so I would imagine it’s worse going in

I had a problem with the hormones in everyyyy different pill. Ive had 2 different IUDs, both have hormones just a higher and lower amount. The Mirena (higher hormones) and I honestly didn’t have the best reaction to the hormones even though very minimal compared to the pill. I got the Skyla IUD after and loved it, it lasts 3 years and has less hormones compared to the mirena. I had the Skyla for 2.5 years before getting it out to try for baby #2 it took us 2.5 to conceive so I haven’t had it for awhile but I just got another Skyla a couple months ago and it seems to be going well. I hate nothing more than birth control so I know the struggle good luck making a choice!
