Thyroid antibodies

DOL

A recent blood test showed I have thyroid antibodies. Here are the levels:

Thyroglobulin antibodies: <10 kIU/L

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies: <9 kIU/L

My GP seems reluctant to do anything about it as I’ve “only had one miscarriage”. However, it was the most traumatic experience of my life that I do not wish to repeat if I can possibly help it at all.

My question is, do my levels seem high? According to Dr Amy Myers in ‘It Starts with the Egg’, thyroid peroxidase should be less than 9IU or negative and thyroglobulin antibodies should be less than 4IU or negative.

I’m in the UK by the way so to get referrals etc, we have to go through our NHS GP usually. They don’t usually do any testing until you’ve had three miscarriages.

Thanks.
