Baseline ultrasound

Hi ladies! I had my baseline ultrasound today and have 30+ follicles on both ovaries, has anyone had experience with this?? For some reason, I don’t remember having this many during my first round, or maybe they didn’t tell me. I do not have PCOS, I’ve seen 2 REs and the only thing I’ve been told is that I have a high AMH. I have regular periods. No other signs. But my new RE went ahead and started me on Metformin several months ago after our consult just based on my AMH. It’s just frustrating, like do I have PCOS or not?! This is my second IVF cycle and I’ve never officially been given a diagnosis. I start stims Thursday. I’m hoping for quality over quantity. It did seem like my AMH increased since having a baby... has this happened to anyone?

Quick history- my first IVF was 2018 and was such a rollercoaster. I responded well. Retrieval went well. Had 29 mature eggs. But my first clinic did not ICSI. So the next morning we got a call that zero fertilized, it was terrible. They ended up trying rescue ICSI. Where we had 1 little embryo make it to day 5 and frozen! It was a miracle.

SA is normal. We were just told basically that his sperm and my eggs just don’t communicate for some reason.

We got a second opinion before starting round 2 and other than ICSI being an absolute must for us, this time I’m on antagonist protocol, instead of long down reg..No BC and no Lupron this time. I was 29 for my first round. I am 32 now, almost 33. My husband is 10 years older.

Thanks for listening:)
