Trouble picking girl names?

Question

I have gone through THOUSANDS of baby names by myself, with my husband, and with my mom. None of us can find any names that we really feel drawn to. I know we have plenty of time since I’m only 17 weeks, but I’m starting to worry that we’ll never find a name that feels right for our baby girl. Has anyone else experienced this??? I feel like so many women talk about how they “just knew” their baby’s name... but I have NO clue!!! I want to give her a name so badly, but I really have no idea, even after scrolling through thousands of names. Help!!!

you’re still early on. Take a few weeks off and focus on other things. Also, are you absolutely sure you’re having a girl? I know you can find out by blood test before 18 weeks, but if not - even if you strongly suspect a girl, it’s not guaranteed. My fiancé and I were in the same situation around then and I was getting so frustrated. Everything I liked he shot down, the few names he suggested I hated. Two names made it to our maybe list, but I realized I was suggesting names I didn’t even love just to try and find something we could agree on. It helped to take a few weeks off and clear our minds. I suggested my fiancé and I each make lists on our own, then compare in a few weeks. 
I was nervous to tell him my boy name ideas bc I only liked 3. With how many girl names he’d shot down I was really worried the same was going to happen with these, but ironically he loved the first one I suggested and my favorite. Also at the anatomy scan, we were expecting them to confirm we were having a girl but we found out we’re having a boy instead. So if you’re not absolutely certain yet, postponing until after could be a good call!

My daughter we couldnt decide, we finally picked a name about 5 minutes before she was life flighted to a bigger hospital.

It can help to start with what you would like the name to mean. Initials you would prefer? Do you want an initial nn option like AJ or definitely not? Start big and then narrow it down. I can also help to be further along in your pregnancy when you feel more connected to the baby and it feels less abstract.

Best advice is to try to stress less and just try to pay more attention to the names around you. We got my daughters name (Kessler) from a name tag on a waitress we had one time!

I'm 27 weeks and have no idea. This is #3 though and it's been like this every time. We don't pick a name until baby is here but we usually have a top 5 or so. This time I have no idea 🙃 it will come, certainly no reason to stress.
