When is D&C necessary ?

I had a miscarriage at 5.5 weeks and the bleeding hasn’t started yet. So technically I’m
6.5 weeks and lost the baby 7 days ago... how long can it take to start bleeding?
This waiting SUCKS 😒😒😒

I just had a D & C yesterday and was 8 1/2 weeks with a blighted ovum. I am SO glad that I did it, I have had no pain afterwards and very minimal bleeding. I was told I could start trying again in 2 weeks if we wanted to. This was my first pregnancy and first loss, and I feel incredibly relieved that I can heal and move on without dragging this out any longer. I felt that it would have been more traumatic for me to miscarry at home and see the blood, tissue ect. I think it all depends on what you feel emotionally . I was ready to put this behind me and move forward.

I’ve heard it can take up to 4 weeks to start bleeding.

I would avoid a D&C especially since you’re early on. 
D&Cs have risks. It can rupture your uterus as well as create adhesions. I had adhesions after my D&C which I had to get removed by a specialist. 
If you dont miscarry naturally you can also request the medication to get it started.

Until your hcg lowers! Shouldn’t take to long, I misscarried at 7 weeks it took 3 weeks go start my period.
