18 months postpartum hair loss

Hii, I have been BF for nearly 18 months now. My little girl has reduced feeds alot but I still feed on demand mostly in the morning and night time. Over the past few weeks (maybe 2-3 weeks) I've noticed my hair has started to fall out when washing and brushing it.

I called the doctor today and they said it was probably hormones as my BF journey has started to slow down. I'm not convinced with his response - have you ever heard of this being the case? Any experience similar?

When I say hair loss - I'll send a pic of the loss after one hair wash .. it's terrified me!!
