How do I check the estimated cost it is to have a child under my insurance?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and I know absolutely anything can happen at birth but I’m just curious where I can find an estimated cost of what insurance covers and what they do not cover? Who do I go to? 
I can’t imagine just finding out after labor! Lol

What is your deductible? That would be the out of pocket price you would pay. For example all of my bills/visits/delivery totaled almost $20,000 in claims. But my deductible is $6,000. All of my claims were “in network” so once I paid $6,000 my insurance covered the rest.

Call or see if there's a section on the website. Like mine has a section in my online account where I can search any procedure (as long as I know what it's proper label is🙄) and see what the estimated cost is on my plan as well as what they'll pay for. They should be able to give you estimated cost. They may not always be able to give you coverage without a specific doctor request since some approvals depend on your history and how the doctor codes it.

I would just call the number on the back of your insurance card. 
Most plans somewhere have a brief coverage summary that can give you and overview but sometimes it’s hard to find those online. My employer posts ours on their HR page.
