What would you do? Potential cancer (Read 1st)

Question

Tomorrow I have an appointment with an ENT (Ear Nose & Throat specialist) that I’ve waited 9 weeks for- I’ve been referred because my GP is concerned that I have tonsil cancer. 
Needless to say I’ve been going absolutely crazy waiting for this appointment to arrive!
I returned to work (childcare environment) a fortnight ago, for the first time after 10 months on maternity leave - well after being surrounded by 100 snotty nosed children I now have a cold 😩🙄
I received a standard COVID text msg today from the hospital to say to call them if I’m unwell. 
I am fortunate enough to live in Perth Western Australia where it has been over 9 months without a community outbreak of coronavirus- any current cases are all travellers in quarantine.
So my question is... do I call and admit that I have a cold, and risk them rescheduling my appointment?
Or just go to my appointment like normal because I know that it’s not COVID related, which is what the text is referring to?

You have to call and reschedule. They will see you physically sick with a cold and send you home. Good luck with your appointment tho!

You call and be honest with them. I have been exposed by multiple patients who “know it isn’t covid” and end up having Covid. It’s unfair for you to put healthcare workers at risk.

It’s honestly up to you. But cancer does not wait, it will continue to spread and grow if untreated. I would call ahead and let them know that you have a cancer screening appointment, but that you have a minor cold. Cancer patients are still treated during the pandemic so I assume they will allow you to come in, but the heads up allows them to take precautions to be safe from covid themselves (wearing proper PPE)

I say call, simply because you don’t know if it’s covid or not.
I had a cancer scare during the pandemic and ended up having pneumonia - so I was told I possibly had cancer and then had to wait 3 weeks for the MRI, then had to reschedule, they were booked until 9 WEEKS out. Good thing it wasn’t cancer, the hospital near me is a damn joke🙄 I  know how you feel. 
Ultimately it’s your call, but calling is the responsible thing to do.

Call and reschedule. You guys are doing ok right now, but how do you for 100% sure it isn’t covid? I had no symptoms and was positive, so any symptoms should be a huge red flag. Don’t be the dick that goes in sick and puts others at risk 🙄

I’d go - I live in Melb and there are so many colds going around! Otherwise call them and see how they feel?

I wouldn't risk them being able to tell if you are sick when you're there. People get super crazy and irrational these days if they think someone near them can be sick. I mean, like really crazy rude and even scary. I don't agree with that at all, but unfortunately that's the world we are living in right now. A sneeze or a throat clear can start an all out brawl
