Dilated?

Anyone dilated yet? I know it doesn’t mean lot but I was in labor and delivery last night for contractions and I’m dilated to 1 centimeter. They sent me home and told me my cervix is still thick. Anyone in similar situation?

Both of my girls were born at 38 weeks, my first I was 5 cm for almost three weeks! Second I was around 3-4 cm for two weeks. It’s not really an indicator of early labor though, I’ve known many women to be dilated early and still needing to be induced in the end.

My first pregnancy I was dilated I would say maybe the last month. It was so long ago. But every time she checked I was dilated some. That labor was so easy. Got him out in three pushes. So hopefully it’s a good sign!

🤷🏻‍♀️ never been checked for that. 33w now and my next app is an ultrasound at 35w, so maybe they will check me then?

It’s so hard to judge.. every pregnancy is so different. 
I am pregnant with baby #9 and I have gone into labour @ 3cm & 5cm which I was for a few weeks leading up. Last baby I got to 9cm without contractions just pressure and I was 5cm 4 days before. Having said that I think that was a freak of nature and had her in the bathroom accidentally.. but the point is, it depends on the effacement, waters, regular contractions etc to work all together 😌
It’s a good sign your 1cm that means your body is heading in the right direction and if it helps at all my longest labour was 3 hours and shortest 15 minutes. So the way I see it, the slow effacement and slow dilation leading up to big day helps a lot!

My sister was 1cm from like 32 weeks and her baby still came late at like 40+6 lol

Yep! Both my girls were born early, and I was dilated and effaced at my appt. I’m 33 now and I would be shocked if I made it past 36!

Idk how you could possibly know. You don’t get checked for that until 36 weeks average.
