How long until I’m pregnant?

How long, on average, does it take for someone to become pregnant? How long should we try before we go to receive help or answers? I have been told multiple times that I am unable to get pregnant but have seen two doctors recently that said I shouldn’t have a issue. We want a family, but I don’t know what is standard, if there is such a thing.

Over 90 percent of people conceive within a year of trying. Depending on your age, the general advice is to seek help after a year of trying.

It took us 2.5 years and major medical intervention. If you're under 35, call for help if it hasn't happened with a year. Over 35, call after 6 months.

After a 4.5 year journey with only one pregnancy and miscarriage, I've definitely developed my own opinion about this.
My personal thoughts are that yes, it can take a year, but should it.
So many people get pregnant within 3-4 months. I think that should be the standard rule.
I think, if it takes longer, it's worth getting checked.
I just believe that something must be "wrong" or off if it's not happening.
Again, this is me after watching 4.5 years of my life go by with still no explanation.
Get check as soon as your gut tells you something is off.
I agree with PPs that it can take longer, but should it? I think there must be a reason.
Again, these are just my personal opinions after all I've been going through.
Get your answers. You deserve them.
If nothing is wrong, and you're still young, keep trying.

The recommendation is to ttc for a year then get help from a doctor.

We were 24 and 27 and it took us 2 years of actively trying  untill we got our baby  , we were just about to give up when it finally happened xx

This was me.  No luck.  3 different doctors,  all saying "nothing is wrong with you... nothing is wrong with him... it'll happen,  just stop stressing." One even told me about the stress of wanting a baby and to just stop trying, I might get surprised with a positive test once I stop stressing to time intercourse...
Kept telling myself, it WILL happen.... now 4+ years later, nothing has changed.
Wish I had just listened to my own gut and sought fertility treatment sooner....
Personally, from my own experience, I would say if it doesn't happen in 18 months, see a specialist and act fast once you seek help (should you need it)
