I don’t think it’s appropriate. I wouldn’t let them watch a movie that was rated the same way, they sure aren’t going to watch a video game with that rating. My husband is an avid gamer but even he has always had that same view. Our kids go to bed at 8 and he is fine with waiting until they’re in bed to start playing something like that. He will play things like Mario or even finds games like Disney cars to play with him if my son wants to play a game.

Sure if you explain to your child it’s not real and it’s a game.
 My husband has always played it around our 3 kids and it’s never been a question. They know it’s not real and only a game . For most kids it’s not a big deal

Depends on the player. Of the player is smack talking, using any kind of slurs, gets mad or violent when losing or frequently cursing I would say no, it is not appropriate but if the player is just playing and spews out an occasionally curse but doesn't do any of the other stuff mentioned then I don't think it is inappropriate.

I don't play it but every so often my son will be in my lap and my husband plays league of legends I'm a firm believer in video games don't cause violent tendencies

I don't think it is inappropriate. I don't play Call of Duty, but I play a lot of other video games and I have a 4 y/o, 2 y/o, and 7 month old. My 4 y/o plays Ark Survival Evolved and Left 4 Dead 2 on splitscreen with me once a week and occasionally plays my old super nintendo by himself. He knows the games aren't real. Playing "violent" video games hasn't changed his behavior in any way whatsoever. He's still the sweetest little boy I have ever met. And the games have never given him nightmares.

My husband plays it around our 5 kids all the time. Never been an issue in our household.

My son is 5 weeks and I had never even considered not playing it around him, even when he gets older. But I’m sure other people would disagree 🤷🏼‍♀️
