Transvaginal of transabdominal?

Question

I have booked an early scan for 8 weeks which I will be this Friday :) (we don’t get them till around 12weeks in the uk) can anyone tell me if they had abdominal scans at 8 weeks and could see clearly? I’m happy to have transvaginal but if I don’t have to I would prefer that  :) I know everyone is different? What were your experiences at 8wks? Tia x

I had a transvaginal ultrasound and we saw baby real good

I had one at 6+4 that was abdominal and everything was extremely clear so, I would say at 8+ you'd be good to go with either way :) :)

I think it depends on where you’re going and what the equipment is like. I went for one this week with my old Foetal Medicine team at 8w1d and it was abdominal, no need for transvaginal. Could see pretty clearly and we heard the heartbeat. Go with a full bladder just in case, there’s no harm in starting on top and go for internal if needs be.

They are starting mine as abdominal to check certain things and then switching to transvaginal to check baby.  I will be exactly 8 weeks

Abdominal that early is SUPER hard to see I would do transvaginal

When i went in at 7 w 6 d they did the abdominal and it wasn’t as clear as my last pregnancy, with my last i had a vaginal ultrasound at 7 w 4 d and it looked so much more clearer.
