Can you leave the hospital without your baby having a name?

I'm watching a show and they have been home for like a week and their baby still doesn't have a name. Can you actually do that?

A birth certificate has to be filled out prior to the child leaving the hospital, so there has to be some sort of identification for them. In my state I don’t believe you’re allowed to leave without giving the baby a name first, as the hospital mails the certificate in after being signed by the parents and the doctor.

In Norway you have 6 months before you have to send in the name. If you don't it's said that the government will name your kid, but I don't think that have ever happened.

Yep. My nephew was officially named at near 2 months. My sister and her husband wanted to see personality first before deciding 100 percent.
Also in many countries there are naming ceremonies at different times.

Yep. Depending on where you live you have quite a while to make changes. In my state you have up to a year to correct their birth certificate so if we had gone home before naming the birth record would have said "Baby Boy" or "Baby Girl" instead of a name and we would have filed a correction when we decided on a name.
