Has anyone needed to supplement formula and if so what were you recommended as closest to breast milk?

I had to supplement in the beginning because my son was in the NICU and I couldn’t pump enough for him when he was there. They used Similac.

They used Similac Pro Advance in the NICU but a few weeks later found rashes and realized and needed a milk free formula. We tried Alimentum and she couldn’t keep it down. We settled on Nutramagin but she is now EBF and we haven’t used any formula in over a week. They are all kind of marketed to be a breast milk replacement so I think it’s more about finding  the one your baby will tolerate.

I supplemented in the very beginning while my supply was establishing. Then I exclusively pumped for 7 months (which was horrible for me) and when we switched her to formula, she was very picky about what she would take. I would suggest buying a couple sample sizes and seeing what baby does well with!
