head down?

how am i suppose to know if baby is head down or not ? i have not had a ultrasound since 20 weeks and in my doctors office it’s not routine to get anymore after that?

I can tell by my baby’s hiccups. Like today she had hiccups for awhile and I felt them up near my rib cage so that told me she’s breech right now. A few weeks ago I felt her hiccups by my pelvic bone so she was head down at one point, just decided to flip for some reason.

If you are worried always ask your provider to check. My baby is still transverse(pretty sure) and I’m 31 weeks so at my appointment this week I’m talking to my OB about when to schedule an ECV if baby isn’t head down. I’d rather try to flip baby early rather than later because I typically don’t get passed 39 weeks and I’m a small person

You doctor can feel baby’s head in cervix. And even by touching your belly.

I can tell by the hiccups, also my midwife checks the bump during each visit.

My midwife will feel down toward the bottom of my pelvis and can feel the head. Ask them to check next time you are there.

After 36 weeks your OB will feel your belly each week and should be able to tell if baby is head down or not
