Lip tie?

I know it’s hard to diagnose a lip tie through a photo but I have no idea what one does and doesn’t look like.. does this look similar to one?

Yes. My youngest daughter has that! As long as your LO isn’t having problems eating then don’t worry about it! 
I also was very concerned & my doc at the time told me I could get it removed so she wouldn’t have a gap but not needed since she could eat.. so I never removed it & she speaks, eats fine. She has the smallest gap but im so thankful I didn’t remove it & put her in unnecessary pain. I wouldn’t stress though as long as your LO is eating properly

Yes! My daughters looked like that and she also had buccal (cheek) ties. We had them revised at 10 days old due to her not latching. She has been latching since a day after the procedure.

Everyone has a frenulum.  I don’t see any blanching from that photo but can’t see how far down it goes and can’t tell the mobility from that photo 
Here was my son’s grade 4 if that helps at all

His top lip didn’t separate from his gums at all.  It got ignored by doctors at first because he has a big upper lip and the fleshy part had movement.  Underneath had none though!
Where there’s a lip tie, there’s almost always a posterior tongue tie.  I’d try to find a knowledgeable provider to assess your child.  It was a huge help for us to get those fixed.
