Taking a break from working

So I need some advice

I’m 20 years old and have worked in retail on and off since I was 16. I currently work in a retail shop and started this job in 2019 December. This job as caused so much stress and think it’s time for me to move on with a different job just for a fresh start, I just can not carry on with the stress anymore and I don’t really get on with my work colleagues as they are much older.

I have £10k saved so I don’t think I’m stressed about money.

I feel guilty and useless if I quit but I want to go to uni anyways to get a better job.

Should I feel guilty for having a month off work to look for another job?

My stress started before Christmas and I don’t know what to do any advice would be appreciated

Don't ever feel guilty for taking care of yourself over work. They will work you until you drop and just grab another person to do your job. Definitely take the time you need to have a better future. Just don't burn that bridge either. Make sure to give at least a two week notice and get a signed letter of recommendation for all your years of work.

Also, retail sucks! Most of us have been there

Absolutely not, capitalism has brainwashed us all to feel unworthy if not making money. It’s bullshit. Especially in the USA that mentality is awful. Take your time, rest, recuperate, find a different job that you enjoy more. Also, be proud and thankful/appreciative that you managed to save so much money.
