I think it’s super sweet that my mother in law is excited for our baby, but she also is very excited to throw a baby shower at her home for us in May, with all of her friends and my mom, grandma and sister being invited too.

She’s very generous but I don’t want to have to travel 7 hours round trip for it when I get to 32-34 weeks. I also don’t want to be around that many people, or have my mom or grandma around that many people either

My sister also wants to throw a shower to invite all my friends and other family, and she’s super reasonable and would be good w a virtual shower I’m sure. I most definitely will not agree to two in person in the same month- my husband and I are also going to be moving into a new home in early April. I’m also working full time and overall just imagine being very tired.

I’m working on getting my husband on the same page as me, and will talk to my MIL about it all soon. I’ve already hinted to both that I’m not sure I’m comfortable with all of that, although hopefully things will be better in May.

What are you all planning for a shower? This is our first and we could use help w getting the things, but I’d gladly sacrifice a few goodies for comfort and safety.
