What’s better ?

I’m new to this and I don’t know if I wanna just pump or breast feed. With my first I did formula cause breastfeeding was just too hard for me and he wasn’t getting enough.
The only thing about breast feeding I didn’t want my baby on my nipples til 1 . Help please , advice needed

I would've voted for the "both" option... I pumped at work, and that allowed for exclusively eating breast milk. And when I got home after a long day of missing my baby, it was nice to bond with her via breastfeeding. Pumping also allowed me to sleep in on the weekends or nap during the day because my husband could warm up my breast milk to feed her while I slept.

Both is way easier in my opinion. I’ve been breastfeeding my first for over two years. When she hit one I would pump her milk for the day time for her cup and nurse her during nap, bed, night, morning

I didn't vote at all because I have a different view on both. I absolutely hated breastfeeding. I hated how it felt, I didn't feel a connection to my son and I felt like all he was using me for was a pacifier. I chose to exclusively pump and that was a job in itself. I pumped for 5 months and ended up supplementing at around the 3 month mark because I wasn't producing enough/couldn't stick to a schedule which is a huge thing with exclusively pumping. It's really going to come down to how you feel about each one. This time around I might try breastfeeding again but I'll have twins and just don't know that I want to go through it with 2 at a time.

I pumped a bit to have extra bottles and slowly built up a freezer stash with my first but I eventually hated pumping so much I just stopped. I kept using the haakaa though they're great!

I exclusively pumped for 10 months - until I got pregnant again and my milk supply vanished. It wasn’t worth it for 2oz a day. I started out wanting to do both but after me being rehospitalized and away from my 5 day old, and then finding he had neck issues from his traumatic birth that made nursing hard, we gave up and did EP. It was SO much work that I’m really wondering how much to do with baby #2. one big benefit to EP is knowing how much they are eating, which was important since my baby kept dropping in percentile.

I would highly recommend a breastfeeding class and/or seeing a lactation consultant postpartum to help with strategy and doubts while breastfeeding. Really helped me with my first. Even if you choose to pump as well!
