Dental care?

My June baby now has four teeth 😱 I use baby toothbrush after her solid (without tooth paste, should I use one?!), but when do we need to take her to dentist?

My daughter just turned 2 and still hasn’t been! She is going to be a nightmare, I’m delaying it as long as possible lol

My son has 8 teeth snd I brush them with baby toothpaste once a day and he chews on a toothbrush throughout the day. I want him to be use to it. My pew said at 1 I should take him to the dentist for the first check up

My ped said at 3 years old. My 2 year old still hasn’t been. We just started using a fluoride toothpaste with her when she turned 2.

I’m a hygienist and I’ve been using fluoride free toothpaste. No baby needs fluoride until they’re able to spit very well. I have been a 9 month old at my office but he had all his teeth and he let me clean them. There are still 7 year olds that cry when they come to the dentist. I always tell parents it’s up to them. If you feel like they’re ready then take them. And I always recommend bring the child with you to your own dental appointments so they see it’s not going to hurt and they see the room and get used to the environment

Our pediatrician said the official recommendation is within 6 months of the first tooth but no later than a year. I’m going to schedule ours closer to a year because he’s almost 8 months and only has 2 teeth.

My son who will be 3 on feb 6th has never seen a dentist. His ped checks his teeth at his appts. He is veryyyyyy difficult in situations like that though. He is extremely stubborn and has to be held still to listen to his heart and lungs and check his ears and everything. Its literally screaming and crying the entire time. He’s actually thrown up more than once. If I tried bringing him to a dentist he would certainly bite. 😳 I love him but lord he does NOT like to be messed with.

I think most people go by 2 years.  My daughter will be 2 next month & I plan on taking her in the spring.
