My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 5 years. 2 years into our relationship we were surprised by the pregnancy of our baby girl. She passed away during labor, full term in 2018. 6 months after we lost her, he quit his job. He worked at the hospital where she was delivered and he couldn’t handle the weight of it any longer. Since then he has lost his cat of 20 years, his dog of 10 years, a best friend from high school, his uncle and his grandmother. Those losses combined with Covid, I believe, have really done a number on him. All of that being said, he has been unemployed for over 2 years. I have approached the conversation of “why aren’t you getting a job” in every way I can think of. I know I can’t do it for him. I’m feeling stuck because I love him. I have no desire to give him an ultimatum or kick him out. I WANT to be with him. I just want him to want more. I guess I’m looking for any advice at this point. Also open to answering questions for any more clarity I can offer. TIA
