Wait for vaccine or TTC now?

My husband and I want to try for baby #2 soon. I have pretty bad anxiety and COVID has only made it worse. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable getting the vaccine while pregnant, so ideally I'd get it before we TTC, but we probably won't be eligible for a vaccine for months. I'm going to be 34. Do I try for #2 and wait til after the baby arrives to vaccinate (knowing I'll be a nervous nelly my whole pregnancy) or wait and get the vaccine first? (knowing I'm not getting any younger?) It feels like there's no right answer 😩 thanks for your input (please be kind!)

Start TTC. It can take a healthy couple years to conceive. So don't put it on hold. Live life and get vaccinated when you have the opportunity. Good luck

The vaccine will not prevent you from getting COVID and people who get the vaccine still have to wear a mask as you can still transmit the virus so keep TTC girl! Build your immune system up and baby dust to you!

This is such a sensitive and personal decision. I’m part of an IVF group and we talk about this often, but the majority of us IVF girls feel that our fertility outweighs the risk of the virus. 
As someone who is currently pregnant I will admit it’s scary right now and I agree with you about being afraid to get the vaccine while pregnant as well. I’m lucky enough that both my husband and I have been able to be home during this pandemic so our risk is generally low, but I’m worried about being in the hospital to give birth in April. 
I would say if you and your husband are able to work from home and you’re careful about not visiting with family/friends at this time, you’re probably okay to continue ttc because by the time you give birth there will probably be a decent herd immunity, and you can get the vaccine as soon as you give birth. It’s controversial as to whether or not the vaccine is safe for breastfeeding moms, but so far it does seem to be safe so I plan to get it whenever it’s available to me - probably sometime this summer 🤞. I also have a few friends and family who are nurses and teachers who received the vaccine recently while pregnant and they’re fine as well. Ultimately follow your heart and assess your own risk of contracting the virus vs your fertility.

This is a very personal decision. For me I am weighing my risk and the fact that I am 37. I can continue to work from home, can get my groceries delivered, and my husband can also work from home. Because of that we have very low risk, so at this point I have decided I am going to continue trying to conceive and am not going to get the vaccine until post pregnancy. I may potentially change my mind if things change between now and when everyone is eligible.... like if I won’t be able to conceive naturally, studies come out about safety in pregnancy, or something happens where I cannot continue to work from home. For right now that is where I’m at. 
One size does not fit all so what I have decided for myself may not be right for you.  Best of luck to you in making this decision and in your quest to conceive ✨

Hey. So I am much in a similar situation to you. I am turning 34 next month and we’ve been TTC #1 for four months. Recently I’ve been offered the vaccine and my ob/gyn said you take it if you can it’s recommended even if TTC. If I do fall pregnant I may reconsider as I’m not sure enough study about vaccine on pregnant women exists but not going to stop trying as age and may take awhile anyway.
