Multiple ovulation days??

Question

So this is a weird situation. I ovulated about 5 days ago. But I felt some wierd tugging last night, so I took an OPK this morning, and SURPRISE... it says I'm peaking again today or tomorrow. Is this possible. FYI, I turn 35 in june.

You can’t ovulate twice but you can have multiple peaks. 
LH strips only test the hormone that triggers ovulation. If you have 2 peeks, that normally means that the first time your body failed at ovulating the first time. On average women will “fail” to ovulate around once a year.

You do not ovulate twice, only once per cycle. Opks do not determine ovulation only detect a LH surge. You can have multiple surges and not ovulate. Without confirming ovulation with temps you don’t know if or when ovulation occurred. You may have ovulated 5 days ago or are just ovulating now.

The only way to confirm ovulation is via ultrasound or a blood test. OPK’s don’t tell us that we ovulate, just that we experience the surge in LH that happens prior to it. We ovulate one time per cycle, although, another egg could be released hours after the first, or multiple eggs could be released around the same time. It’s possible to experience a surge in LH, and our bodies could fail to ovulate, but if this happens, our bodies will make another attempt to ovulate..that very well could be happening now!
