Spotting in second trimester.

I've already contacted the doctor, I'm waiting for her to call me back. I woke up this morning to use the bathroom and there was pinkish-red spotting, no clots. I do occasionally have pressure in my lower stomach, but the doctor said it was normal since my first appointment. I did a cervical check with a qtip and saw no bleeding. I checked my baby's heart beat and it was normal. I'm 17w4d, first pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this and was it something you rushed to the doctor over?
