NEXPLANON. Yes or no?

Question

I have depression and anxiety. Plus I have weight issues and I'm currently on the keto diet. I finally lost 18 lbs so far. I plan to get this implant in my arm for a year so that I don't risk pregnancy this year since my son is only going to be 2 the end of the year and not ready for another baby yet. My main concern is weight gain and worse depression as a side effect and no sex drive. I am not on any birth control now and I'm depressed, fat, and have no sex drive ever so I don't want to make it worse while being on this birth control. Has it improved for anyone or made things worse. I'm worried because most people I know gained a bunch of weight on it. Depression wise they are fine because they aren't prone to depression like I am

I just had a baby and am on the pill, but wanted to try something more permanent and higher effectiveness but also suffer from anxiety and have heard that it can make anxiety worse.

When I started Nexplanon, I actually felt happier than before. I had severe depression and was very worried about the same things you are. My sex drive was a bit of a roller coaster. Sometimes it would skyrocket and then for two weeks I simply couldn’t finish. My weight didn’t change a bit. Overall i’m so glad I chose Nexplanon. It’s worry free and I feel as if it has the least side effects for what i have tried.

I have Nexplanon with anxiety and a history of depression. I have had nothing but a horrible experience the last two (almost three) years. My mood swings have been horrible. One minute I’m happy and the next I’m either anxious, mad over nothing, or feeling depressed. Not to mention I gained a crap load of weight, my periods are 10 to 12 days long, and I have constant headaches.

I just have really bad anxiety sometimes and I’ve been on it for 2 1/2 years this is my last year on it...if you work out you won’t struggle with gaining weight and you will sometimes have mood swings...sex drive us also not a problem but I still suggest using a condom until you’re comfortable with what’s going on. You’re gonna have some changes but not a lot.

I was on nexplanon for almost two years after the birth of my twins. I would CONSTANTLY be bleeding and have really bad stomach pains. I was also suicidal and my depression/anxiety was really bad. I also gained like 30 pounds. I would not recommend it. It does amazing at preventing pregnancy, but other than that, it's garbage.

I was on nexplanon for 9 months. I couldn’t do it anymore. It really took a toll on my mental health & weight gain. 
Everyone’s different, but it was the worst thing for me, I felt off being on it. 
I hope it works for you!! I have friends that say it works fine for them, but for me it’s a strong no.
