Like to get baby to sleep? Honestly I try to train my babies to sleep during normal noise. That includes cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, their siblings shouting, me shouting for them to be quiet 😂, driving with loud music (not too loud) 
We never do complete silence in the house. So if they adjust to needing noise then I have a small speaker I just sit it next to the crib and play a playlist for them.

Pros:
-Puts baby to sleep
-Soothes them when they’re upset 
-they get used to background noise while sleeping so no one has to be hush hush
Cons-I honestly don’t know any because it helps our daughter sleep lol

I have a white noise app on my phone that I use. I love it. It honestly helps me, my husband, and my son. My son sleeps in his bassinet next to the bed. I keep it on low and we listen to the “thunder storm”. I got tired of ocean waves 🤷🏻‍♀️. It’s turned off in the past and my son kept sleeping, but honestly it helps me more because my husband snores. Lol.

As a nanny I’ve used one with families for years but I’m still torn. The kids that sleep the hardest didn’t have one early on but they also didn’t sleep through the night. I think our personal plan of attack will be one at night only, no swaddle after 2 weeks and nothing during the day. Lighter environment and versatile sleep situations so they have the ability to fall asleep if we go for a walk or a car ride.

Yes. Noises still make it to his room— I can hear them on the monitor, so it’s not like he can’t sleep through sounds. We use pink noise and it’s on all night and the duration of all naps.

I just use a box fan. I’ve always slept with one on so my daughter just got use to it as well.

My oldest stopped sleeping well around 4 months so I finally started using a sound machine when he was 6 months. It helped tremendously. My 8 month old has never used one and sleeps fine. My advice is don’t start with one so they don’t depend on it, but don’t be afraid to introduce it if y’all are struggling with sleep.

Yes but only on a general wooshing sound, I never used any of the fancy sounds. It's mainly because I have multiple kids and when I had my first we lived in a small town house with a dog, so it helped drown out noises

Didn’t really help with my child, but every kid is different. Once she was older, made sleep worse. Maybe it was too loud or distracting? She’s easily overstimulated.
