Ovulation test detect pregnancy?

Kept reading how LH strips can detect HCG. Tried it today because I had leftover ones and it did! I’m 5w6d. Has anyone else tried this?

This is actually the reason I decided to take a regular pregnancy test with my last 2 pregnancies...OPK 3 DPO was completely negative. No line at all. OPK at 10 DPO had a strong line, almost as strong as the line on my expected ovulation day. Lo and behold, I was pregnant! HCG that day measured at 20. LH and HCG are molecularly very similar and most OPKs can’t tell the difference, hence the positive result with the presence of HCG.  While I wouldn’t use this as a confirmation of pregnancy, it is a very good indicator that you could be pregnant!

Interesting....I wonder if this would explain why I got double peaks? Maybe the second is hcg and I was already pregnant?

I tried it a while ago and got basically the same result as you (I’m also pregnant). That being said I don’t think it’s a reliable indicator... LH goes up and down daily 🙂
