What to do?

My 4 year old has been collapsing all day. His one leg hurts and keeps giving out when he is walking or just standing. This is not the first time this has happened.  The last time I called the pediatrician and they kept saying growing pains and such. Anyone else experience this with their kids?

I would take him to get checked. That doesn’t sound like growing pains. Don’t let doctors dismiss your concerns.

My friend’s son kept falling too and she took him to the doc. Turns out he had a broken bone in his foot. I’d ask for a complete check up first before saying it’s just growing pains.

As a kid and teen I got some crazy growing pains. Never had a leg give out on me but they hurt so bad they felt very weak even though they functioned perfectly normal. So it sounds like it could be growing pains.

Update if you find out what it is that’s causing that because my daughter has random pains in her body similar to that and we have never been able to figure out what it is and have been told it’s growing pains also.

When I was 4-5 I had HORRIBLE growing pains. They’d keep me up all night & sometimes I wouldn’t be able to walk the next day. My parents tried to help by propping my leg up on a pillow, but it barely helped. It could be growing pains mama

My niece and nephew (12,6) both have crazy growing pains. I’ve never heard about such a thing considering I am 5,9 and never had this issue but it can really hurt to the point they can’t walk. As long as the doctor is sure that’s what it is, the only thing which works is Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the pain. There is no cure until they stop growing.
