Natural ovulation induction+UPDATE
I just wanted to share my story to maybe help out other ladies!
Long story short, I miscarried Nov 2020. I haven't had af or ovulation since. Dr refuses to give me anything to help ( I have PCOS )
So I took it upon myself to research on natural supplements to help me resume ovulating. I noticed in my own research there aren't alot of detailed tips on how successful woman had used herbs ( like what dosage / how frequent ) .
**DISCLAIMER: I am not a medical professional , just sharing what has worked for me. Please note from most of my readings , if you have a regular cycle , you should not take these supplements as they can alter a regular cycle***
Long read but I wanted to share as much details as I could.
So here's what I did ( I haven had a period so I can't reference with my cycle days , but will write the suggestions I seen with CD) :
1. Black cohosh : I took 120mg for 13 days. They recommend taking 120 CD1-12 . They say it's similar to nature's clomid , some articles say to take it with clomid if you're on it . Its supposed to help ovulation and thicken the endometrial lining vs thinning like clomid tends to do. There is a strict warning to not take once you have a + opk as it will cause miscarriage.
2. Vitex : I have been taking this for 12 days . At 1600mg a day(2 pills twice a day) . I have read mixed things , one says to stop once you ovulate and don't restart unless you get period. But I've read with low progesterone, you should continue into pregnancy if pregnant. I think once I fall pregnant I will get my progesterone tested but continue until i know I have healthy levels to continue the pregnancy.
3. Evening primrose oil: this one I started later but it says to take 2 pills twice a day. Once you have af up until ovulation. I was only taking for maybe 4/5 days and I stopped right before my +opk. It's supposed to help with ewcm. But I didn't notice any difference.
4 . Maca root - this helps improve mood and libido. Im not sure if low libido is a PCOS thing but I have been taking 1 pill twice a day.
5. Ovasitol- I have been taking 1 scoop , twice a day in a small glass of water. Ovasitol is made for woman with pcos.safe to take during pregnancy. It's said to improve egg quality, aid in ovulation, can help reduce insulin levels.
There's are all the supplements I have been taking for a couple weeks now and finally got my + opk! I can't guarantee it will work for everyone. But it's what I have done as a women with PCOS who has not gotten af or ovulation since miscarriage. I reiterate I am not a dr or specialist but sharing my experience and again from my own search it's not recommended to take black cohosh or vitex if your cycle is regular.
