Not exactly. This is my professional opinion:
Hormones generally can affect your gums so they may become more sensitive and more susceptible to bleeding. This condition is called pregnancy gingivitis.
For your teeth to “fall out”, the bone needs to be affected as well. This condition is called periodontitis. It doesn’t just happen during pregnancy. Some people are susceptible to it and if their hygiene is not great, it can make it worse. Pregnancy can also make it worse and it may lead to tooth movement. (It also works the other way around, if a women has this condition, her baby is more at risk to be pre-term and to have low birth weight but unfortunately, dental treatment would not lower the risk but it is something to keep in mind).
Now if we talk long term, if you do not get enough calcium during pregnancy, your baby will use the reserve from your bones and that can weaken them and lead to osteoporosis. When this happens in the jaw bone, that can lead to bone loss and tooth mobility as well.
Teeth do not generally just fall out, this condition is generally chronic and a tooth can lose a lot of bone and still remain in the mouth.
Bottom line, make sure you are getting enough calcium, make sure your dental hygiene is optimum, visit your dentist and get a cleaning during the second trimester and you should be fine. Losing a tooth for every kid is an old wives tale.

They don’t just fall out generally. Lower calcium and excess vomiting can weaken enamel etc but if you have healthy teeth prior to pregnancy you will be fine. If you’re concerned many dental insurance will offer an extra cleaning.

I know people who’s teeth fell out after pregnancy but it was because she had problems with them already. Probably it’s worse for those who’s vomiting more during. You should just take more calcium and wash it a little bit more often and there won’t be any problem!:)
