Help kickstarting full labor
Let me start by saying I’m extremely high risk in this pregnancy because of many factors with my first, including premature birth at 30 weeks. I am 36 weeks right now (at least, my due date is still in question due to insurance issues because of COVID-19, there’s a high chance that I’m actually 37 +1). I have been in prodromal (sp?) labor for two weeks. I am having actual painful contractions at regular intervals that randomly start and stop after a day of going through them and my cervix is still closed. I have never had a natural birth or labor so this is my body’s first time. I have also had trace amounts of protein in my urine for my entire pregnancy and have had high blood pressure consistently (I literally take my BP three times a day and have to go to the hospital at least once a week). My labs are showing that I, once again, am developing preeclampsia, and despite the fact that the day I developed preeclampsia with my first I had placental abruption, had PPROM, and baby went into distress, my doctor is outright refusing to do an ultrasound, and won’t schedule my repeat C-section until 39 weeks (February 19). He won’t even address my labs or my Gestational Diabetes. He hasn’t given me any instructions about my newfound anemia, etc. I just would really like to get labor started in earnest since he literally said that’s the only way that he will do my C-Section before the 19th. He literally wouldn’t budge a day early blaming the hospital. How can I get labor going in earnest? What things are you doing at home to protect against any of the problems I am having? I just want some answers and unfortunately, I don’t think I can find a new OB in time since everyone is booked until after my due date...I’ve actually tried. Any advice is welcome.
